Frequently asked questions

Is the free tier open source?

No. The free packages (@kanunilabs/pivotgrid-core, @kanunilabs/pivotgrid-react) are free to use but proprietary — you may install and ship them in your apps, but the source is not published and may not be redistributed on its own. See the LICENSE in each package.

What's the difference between free and Enterprise?

Community (the free @kanunilabs/pivotgrid-react package) is a fully usable pivot table: pivoting, grouping, sorting, filtering, conditional formatting, theming, localization, saved views, broad import, and CSV/JSON/clipboard/print export. Enterprise adds advanced analytics and BI-grade output — calculated fields, the prefilter builder, drill-down to source records, live chart integration, and styled Excel/PDF export — delivered via a private registry with a signed license key.

How does licensing work?

Each license is a signed key (KLAB1….) verified offline in the browser (no network needed) using an embedded public key. Keys are bound to your domains and tier. An optional online check revokes refunded/leaked keys. Manage domains in your dashboard — changing them re-issues the key.

Which frameworks are supported?

Today: React (React 18 & 19). The engine is framework-agnostic, so Angular and Vue adapters are on the roadmap.

Can I use it in a commercial / closed-source app?

Yes. Both the free and Enterprise tiers may be used in commercial applications, including closed-source products.

How is this different from a full component suite?

A focused, modern alternative: a single high-performance PivotGrid with a Web Worker engine, a smaller install, per-developer pricing, and a private-registry delivery model — without buying a whole suite.

How do I get support?

Free tier: community support on GitHub. Paid tiers: open a ticket from your dashboard — Team and Enterprise get prioritized replies.

What happens when my subscription ends?

Subscriptions include a 14-day grace period. After that the grid keeps rendering but shows an "unlicensed" watermark until renewed. Perpetual licenses keep working for any build released during their entitlement window.

Do you offer refunds?

Billing is handled by Paddle (our Merchant of Record). Refund requests go through Paddle; a refunded license is revoked automatically.
